Commander's Message 2009-10

E-mail Print PDF
Fellow Legionnaires:

As we begin the month of October, let us reflect on some of the events took place in September.
On September 12th we held our annual post picnic. Everyone that attended had a great time. I would like to thank everyone who helped make it a success.
On September 18th three of our members traveled to Harrisburg for the POW/MIA Ceremomies. Mitch Maurer (SAL), Judy Zerby (ALA), and myself. A special thanks to Mitch and Judy.
On September 25th, 11 of our members represented our post at the district meeting in Elizabethtown. Anyone that is interested in going to a district meeting is always welcome. Next District meeting October 30 New Holland.
We eat at 7:00 and Meet at 8:00.
With regret, the executive committee voted to do away with the pool and dart leagues. This was done primarily because of being to small, and not enough parking. We feel it was in the best interest of all our members. Maybe somewhere down the road when we get bigger.
For those of you who paid their dues prior to October 1st, don't forget the early bird party on October 18th. Canteen will close at 4:00 and re-open at 5:00. You must show your card with the early bird stamp on it to get in. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Newsflash

A veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone
who, at one point in his/her life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The
United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."
That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer
understand it. -- Author Unknown
